Can i stick my mc21 front coil on the mc16 to test the front cylinder for firing. as i thought a part from the different shape, isn't it just a coil after all?

i only want to run it a couple of miles to check a problems i'm having and want to eliminate the coil on the mc16, or failing this, i've just fixed my multimetre if anyone can describe how to check it for me.

hi, here are the values for testing the coil using your multimeter.

Primary resistance - 0.1~0.3 Ohm
Secondary (no cap) - 2~4K Ohm
Secondary (cap) - 5~11K Ohm

re checking coil TEC Japan MP03 6Y17

checked the primary resistance which was 0.00 under range, this is same as the suspected working coil from the rear cylinder, in fact all readings were similar for both coils.

checked the secondary resistance which was 8.91 (cap) in range

checked the secondary resistance which was 4.29 (no cap) over range

checked cap 4.63

what do yo think?
