I think JHA have stopped trading. They closed shop around 18 months ago, so you'll be looking at second hand cans nower days I think.
I use JHA on both my NSR and RS and have to say they are the best cans I've used, but as you say they are expensive. If it's for the road I'd use TYGA cans, they are excellent value and do everything the JHA do (except they are a bit heavier).
Right then. If I fit end cans and do the mod to the airbox lid, I'll have to assume the standard jetting won't be right for this. From anyone's experience, what would I have to change in the carbs to make the most of these mod? Could it be simply a MJ change with needle repositioning or is it time to dig deep for a jet kit?
MC21. Wirespliced obviously. Full engine rebuild over winter after I got fed up with it dumping oil and fuel all over the place. Didn't rev out cleanly either. Now she's running much better, revs out cleanly.
Always helps to know exactly which model people are dealing with when asking technical stuff!
As for jetting advice, you will have no doubt read before in other posts, that every bike is different. I have known cases where MJ need to be smaller after a wiresplice, airbox mod and cans, and others where the jetting is increased! The only sure fire way of knowing is a plug chop, but for safety's sake, go up a couple of MJ sizes first and then work back down.
It is unusual to need to change the needle position with those limited modifications. You start to play with needle position when using the HRC emulsion tubes and air correctors, and open carbs, as these variables effect the mid-range transition a lot more. _________________ Andy.
