When I remove the air recovery lines that go to/from the carb(ta-22b) and blow on them should air go through those pipes into the carb or vice versa ?
here's a pic of my results that I'm getting now .
Also should I be posting here or start in the members build section ? I'm not really doing a rebuild just checking out what does what and how the bike works.Making sure everything works as it should.
And I removed the pipes from the 'T' and 'X' before i checked to see if air flowed.

OK your running late mc21 carbs same as my 93sp those bits that the blue marked hoses are on don`t have any hoses on them on mc21 so i guess air should not go through . The plumding on a mc18 and mc21 are different . See here http://tech.nsr-world.com/nsr/mc21/mc21-air-correction/ and here http://tech.nsr-world.com/nsr/mc18/mc18-air-correction/ . How you should plumb them up is a good question someone on here like Andy or Matt probably would know the best way to do it . There are people running mc21 carbs in mc18
You could just not use the solenoids an block the power jets and run with bigger mains as with the hrc jet kit??? _________________ it wouldn't be fun if it was easy!

Instead, I would fit proper power jets (preferably adjustable ones) and a smaller main jet.
Big main jets just ruin the power curve at mid rpms ...but that's just me.
Ssimon, that's just a great opportunity to remove the carbs and get them cleaned.
Using a carb cleaner and with the bowl removed, will really tell if they are blocked or not.
Most probably they are used to supply air to the "bleed type" needle jet.
You will not be able to really tell if they are blocked or not by just blowing through them, as the hole should be something in the region of 0.2mm and less... _________________ 2t-racelab.com
The carbs did get a clean before I put them back on , but all I have done so far is start the bike , and go for a 5 second run out the front of my house .
When I opened the carbs originally I found small mains #105
I have since replaced them with #128's
'bleed type needle jet ' you've lost me there
also I was told on these carbs they just sit open like this on this model carb.
I never did get the power jets out though ...
So in summary , those 2 in blue pipes have been removed
the 2 in red have been connected to the solenoids
and the #128 jet added in . If what I have done is madness let me know !!
I can't say/do much more at the moment as the bike has to sit while I repair a fzr250 and get that sold to fund the NSR . Unless what I can do / change doesn't cost _________________ NSR250R MC18
Think you're going in the right direction. I'd run them as per the 21 diagram, do you have the 21 x and y pieces??? _________________ it wouldn't be fun if it was easy!
what I did cause no I didn't have a Y piece on hand was move that X you see on the blue pipes back to the red, which has a T piece on it in the pics. then connect the 2 coming from the solenoids to the freed up T piece and used a leftover bit of pipe to connect the T to the X
Please excuse the drawing I have added to help out , blue for solenoids and pink for carbs. Also I haven't looked at the 21 diagram yet no
nsrdownunder dropped in and this is what we/he came up with I think I got it right putting them on . _________________ NSR250R MC18
Yeah that looks like it'll work. Make sure your x piece is the right way round it has a metal jet in one of the ends. _________________ it wouldn't be fun if it was easy!
