Trying to get my MC28 going for the early morning mountain ride tomorrow but can't get the RC valves to operate.
I've installed the new PGMIV (Moriwaki Man HRC spec, just back from Japan), I serviced the RC valves this morning and bought a new battery...I cannot get the RC valve servo to move and I have tried 3 different servos!
There is no ERR2 code. I do get the ERR3 when I disconnect the TPS.
Does the motor need to run in order to reset the servo? I haven't got the tank on yet so no fuel to get it running.
Swift help would be mucho aprreciato as it will be dark in a few hours!

The RC servo should move if it's not in the correct place the second the bike is turned on. It does not need to run.
However the servo only moves if it's not in the right place, otherwise it stays still! _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
If I put my spare working pgm in it operates all three servos I have. Funny thing is the HRC pgm displays no error codes but it will not move the servo...any ideas?

Nope, no movement at all.
With the HRC PGM I get ERR3 when the TPS is unplugged. When TPS is connected I get no ERR codes but no servo movement...three different known to work servos.
When I put the standard PGM in I get correct movement with all three servos.
Stumped really...could be ERR2 on the HRC PGM but not showing the code?
I'll contact Drew and see if he can help. _________________ 1996 MC28SE (Honda Flash), 24,000KM - Drilled airbox, HARC Pro pipes, TYGA Hi-flo reeds, special manifolds, Ohlins rear shock & steering damper - SOLD
It should flash "SP" for a split second then go to "--" or a temp if it's warm enough (above 35*c) which it may well be there. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I don't see how it can fix it...the wire splice makes the lights, indicators, oil light, sidestand, etc...no mention of the RC valves.
If I do the splice can I still use a standard PGM? _________________ 1996 MC28SE (Honda Flash), 24,000KM - Drilled airbox, HARC Pro pipes, TYGA Hi-flo reeds, special manifolds, Ohlins rear shock & steering damper - SOLD
The HRC card isn't supposed to work with the stock loom at all. To do so would have provided too easy a way round the 40bhp Jap domestic restriction.
Honda would not have been allowed to sell a different "key" which raised power by about 20bhp and blanked the speedo out!
Even buying an HRC card back in the day in Japan used to be hard, you had to provide a race licence.
Removing the sidestand and neutral lines (which are the ones that go though the PGM itself, it's for the side stand down while in gear cut out) fools the PGM into thinking it's running on the race loom.
And yes the stock card will still work, but if you jet the bike for the HRC card the stock card will run terribly. If you don't the HRC card will run terribly. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

Thank you Fonty.
I'd been doing a bit of research on it and found a thread where a guy had the same problem and wire splice didn't help, didn't mean to sound as if you didn't know what you were talking about, if thats how I came across...appreciate your input.
Anyway...4am! One hour to get a wire splice done before meeting the lads _________________ 1996 MC28SE (Honda Flash), 24,000KM - Drilled airbox, HARC Pro pipes, TYGA Hi-flo reeds, special manifolds, Ohlins rear shock & steering damper - SOLD
