can anyone in the uk give us a link for a flywheel puller please
dont wanna use a leg puller though just aint to sure which flywheel puller is for my nsr250

The puller is a standard Honda part. If you read the engine strip-down section in The Workshop you will find the Honda part number.

Sure, I could've just told you the part number, but there isn't much info you can't get from a little reading though the Site!!!

Yes I can do that. If its a stock Honda part I should have it within 2 days if Stevo needs one.

well i gave the puller a go last night in work but had a prob
i put the left handed screw on the flywheel then screwed the centre bolt in as far as possible which went straight into the crank where the bolt retains the flywheel
but it stripped the thread inside when we tighten it up
so we sorted the stripped thread
then took the measurement of the diameter of the crank end
then lathed a piece of metal to act as a spacer exactly the diameter of the crank end
so the screw dont go into the crank when tightened
i know the part number was right cos it was stamped with them magic numbers #####-#######
so i'm just wondering if the centre bolt should go into the crank
or should rest on top of the end crank
well i'm sh*t at explaning things most times
so i hope someone can make sense of what iv'e just said
incase someone else has the same prob

I think i understand what you have done there Stevo. Sometimes you do have to fit something onto the end of the cranks to stop the puller mushing the end of the crank. What you did sounds right. We normaly turn down the head of a bold and screw it into the crank before using a puller on it. I guess you did get the flywheel off tho??

yeah i did turn down the head of a bolt and the flywheel came off really easy
just thought ad mention incase someone else gets a bit puzzled

This may demonstrate the best method to remove the flywheel.

The "rotor puller attachment" is an NSR special tool, Honda part# 07HMC-KV30100.



Stevo and Stephen's method of turning down a bolt head does exactly the same job though.
