I am probably going to install an Ignitech on my bike sometime in the next year or so. Don't wait for me though, I'll be slow to get around to it.
I just like the idea of having a bit of a play-around with the ignition and powervalve timing.
No doubt it will cost me a few pistons and/or barrels.
I believe that Ignitech have a program all mapped out ready to go for the NSR. But it was third hand info, so best to ask Ignitech direct.
Yip , it comes preset with a curve for the mc18. My challenge is to learn how to alter things slightly to mach my state of tune , which is difficult if there are no instructions that I can find .
Not that i am aware of , if there are any problems they are sorted out asap by the manufacturer . Its all good and a step forward in developing the bike .
The price is not too bad either so i will see first hand if it is worth it or not . We are expecting a beter midrange with a better overrev too .
We did a test which suggested getting the PV's open slightly earlier could be advantageous; we did as power run, killed the ignition at full revs, then unplugged the PV unit and did another run (so the PV's were as open as they get).
Obviously the curve with the PV's fully open was worse at the bottom but it crossed the normal curve and made more power for a few hundred revs just before peak power. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Sort of. At the moment I either want the pro-arm RS250 and rejet/modify it to run on pump gas (i know they aren't the best performing of the bunch but i've always had a boner for them) or build another NSR on an MC28 base but put my fresh engine in it with USD forks, and put together another runner in my current frame but most likely with freshened up stock pipes and a few mods.
Something like that.
Was planning to collect bits, maybe a 28 swinger here, forks there, crappy engine...slowly start work...so the missus doesn't notice me building and spending...
