I'm here having a lot fun with my new the bike, i'm loving it. I'm a little big for her but she pulls great.
I have corrected the fuel mix and now it's fine, i had to start the bike outside a couple of times
Now I'm working in the bike setup and i have to rebuild the forks, because the seals are bad and the oil goes to the brake pads.
Here the rebuild is 100€ aprox and they adjust the fork to your suit, but the forks are no fully adjustable and i wanted to ask if you would consider to spend some more in a MC21 fork or the HRC ones or simply take the fork to rebuild.
I just been reading a bit and i will like to know your opinions.
Thanks in advance.
Javi
Once set up properly, I doubt there will ever really be any need to adjust R [or SE/SP] forks again. The adjustment isn't great on stock SE/SP forks anyway, and we have to modify them before you can actually feel any [even vaguely] noticeable difference between -5 and +5 on the rebuond "clicker". You can notice the preload more however, so really it's down to if you want to spend the extra on sourcing some MC21 forks for the twiddly bits.
RS250R NF5 forks however, are a whole different kettle of fish. They are superb, and better than any NSR fork. You will need to change the calipers and disks too though, or build the RS internals into the MC18 forks. They are a different length though, so it's not all straightforward, plus the lastest NF5 RWU forks have compression dampening on the fork bottoms. Light years ahead of the NSR though. _________________ Andy.

As i want to use the bike the earlier the better, i'll go and rebuild this ones and meanwhile i'll try to source the RS250R NF5 forks. I have to replace the front rotors soonly so it will be done all at the same time.
I have a little list of things firstly to do
Cleaning the carbs
Adjust the RC Valves
Check the clucht
Check the split in the CDI
I'll have a good reading of the service manual it's very helpfull, thanks again.
Cheers.
Just to update, i have rebuilt the forks and now they are in great shape. BTW the tech said the chromed has some rust spots but he polished the tubes and left the surface very smotth again. Also there was a missing bushing, but he made it in 5 min at the lathe.
He made a mod in the forks and he ensured it will be very noticeable (we will see), if you are interested in can share with you. Also in order to see if he has uprated or spoiled a pair of MC18 forks.
