I have replating a pair of MC18 cylinders and will going to install on my MC28..
Do I need different chanbers? what else parts do I need? please help... _________________ 1996 HONDA RS250

All you need are the corresponding MC18 heads. The radiator hoses will even line up.
Exhaust manifold outlets are the same on all NSR250s. You could even use MC16 cylinders if you wanted (they have very small exhaust ports though!), and the expansion chambers would still line right up. _________________ Andy.

Excellent result. What else did you do? I see an uncharacteristic "wobble" as the powervalves open, but I expect that could be down to the MC18 porting.
Here's one of our very first NSR-WORLD "SP" motors (blue trace) compared to an HRC SP kitted MC28. (The MC28 had standard SP barrels.)
As you can see, you could quite possibly be able to clean up the little dip around 7000rpm. We've often found getting them very clean there has even pushed the peak a tiny bit higher, so if you're lucky, you may even crack 66hp*.
*66hp on your particular dyno. Obviously we can't compare specific numbers between different dynos, so our 65.89 could read anything from 60hp to 70hp on your dyno! _________________ Andy.

I expect the carbs are causing the flutter at 7000rpm then. They don't tend to work well low down.
If you have the chance, try a set of HRC TT-F3 carbs. You may be surprised. The smaller carbs just flow so much better low down, and really give a crisp throttle response, and are good for 75hp+.
Still a great result on an MC28. We've not seen many perform in the mid 60s without a lot of work. _________________ Andy.

Very interesting thread leading to a very nice bike well done Hung.
I have been meaning to put these charts on for a while they belong to a MC 28 I bought 2 years ago. I have put some pictures of it on in the past, here are some dyno runs and speed trap mph from when the bike was raced.
The bike is an ex Colin Marshall Team Castrol Honda Thailand and I can be sure the figures shown are at the wheel not at the pillow.
v
The bike was used once after it came to the UK in 1997 then stored till 2012.
I have done a few track days on it Mallory festival and Brackley bike bonanza. It is certainly the fastest NSR 250 have ever ridden. And yes Leigh that hurts me to admit that. _________________ John
Hi Andy
Thank you for reminding me I am not discussing jetting I am posting the facts of my bike and what has been done to it,
I am not telling anyone to jet their bike the same as mine I thought it might make some interesting reading for other forum members,
You know my knowledge on computers is poor and I got my daughter to post this for me,If and she has gone home now,If it so bad can i ask you to remove the items you dont want me to show ?,dear oh dear, _________________ John
Rule no. 6.
Please do not discuss specific jetting issues in general discussion.
No one discussing them here, just a photo. Dear Dear Dear. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
Normally I wouldn't, John, but as you ask, this time I will.
It's irrelevant how or why the jetting figures are posted, what is relevant however is the rule I have in place for no jetting information in the public area. You can blame the asshole that threatened me with court after reading an MC21 [third party] jetting post about 10 years ago for that!
It's not exactly a new rule. _________________ Andy.

I'd much rather deal with disgruntled forum members than some jumped-up, snot-nosed, no win/no fee scumbag lawyer... the world's just full of people today who'd rather make money off someone else's back, than take responsibility for their own actions.
Rule #6 is not nanny state, it's an unfortunate by-product of it! _________________ Andy.

Hi Andy
I never meant for any one to seize their bike or melt their pistons up their barrels and if they are daft enough to copy any one elses jet setting so be it,
Yes I can see your point about snotty nose lawyers chasing peoples hard earnt cash over their clients own stupidity,But I promise you one thing Andy I never even thought about the jet settings, gearing or tyre size when I put the post on,I put them on for other people to share, and to show some 28,s can go as well as 21,s if you spend enough money on them, _________________ John
