Oh and any idea where in the UK is the best place to get a reasonably priced rear stand for the MC28 ?

Got the bike, apparently someone on here knows it very well ?

Whats the thoughts on the green raceplates rather than yellow on the fairings that the previous owner purchased and has included in the sale ?

I think as this is not an original rothmans yellow plate replica then the green plates should be used to not try and be passing it off as a yellow plated replica ??? thoughts ?

Look at item 281505734070 on ebay. They are pretty rare and sought after. They are about 200 ish.

Go for the green number boards, green was for 250cc race bikes, yellow was for 500cc, could never understand why Honda put yellow on a 250cc, i spose they thought it looked like Doohans 500cc. Nice clean bike though.

I like the green race-plates.............They look good and make a change from all the yellow ones on the genuine and non-genuine Rothmans reps IMHO

Thanks guys that was what I thought. Very happy with the bike, it's very clean was setup by rc45 steve or something like that from here and has dyno charts showing 63hp on a stock engine, which is very strong indeed.

Yeah, that's one of the better MC28s we've run. A very nice, well looked after bike, and my second favourite colour scheme!

Personally, I'd much sooner keep the standard [original] MC28SE bodywork on it, unless the spare set is for track days? Nothing beats original panels, for either fit or resale value. The green number plates look good... the rest of the Rothmans scheme is very "wrong". Park one up next to a genuine SP sometime, and you will see a huge difference.

Ouch ! there is a RC30 one listed too for £465 for a second hand one ! I presume the pin is the all import bit and it seems the pin size on the RC30 / NC30 ones is the same as the MC28 ? ? if thats the case then a cheapo one from ebay or demon tweeks etc for a NC30 will fit just fine ???

I don't intend getting shot of the original panels at all, just always liked the rothmans panels and previous owner had these bought already, so may have a go at getting them to fit, get spare tank painted to match and put original panels in a safe place for if I ever want to sell or fancy the original look. They look good enough for that purpose - i.e. prolonging the life of the stock panels and giving a pretty good Rothmans look that I have always hankered after. do you know think ?

Yeah, I am biased though, as I like the white/blue MC28SE styling, and original panels! Smile

Don't get me wrong, Rothmans is my favourite colour scheme too, but given how much I like the 28SE colours, Chinese "Rothmans" panels will never even register with me! Wink

I can never see the point is "saving" original panels, just so they can be put back on the bike and sold on for someone else to enjoy, in just the same way I don't like screen protectors and phone cases. Confused Just look after it, and enjoy all its best qualities, rather than pass them on to the next owner!

Totally with you on this. Why people would take original panels off their bike for fear of damaging them only to replace with poor ones is beyond me. Just look after it and enjoy it in my opinion Smile

I wasn't saying I'd take them off for fear of damaging them, I was saying I was thinking of taking them off and storing them somewhere safe whilst I ran the bike with rothmans panels on as I like the rothmans look.
