Managed to pick up a HRC loom and a replacement power valave servo for £80 delivered this weekend. The servo I bought for a spare but the loom I probably will use despite having already done both wire splices.
Just wondered what the looms go for on average and if its worth bothering to change with my existing loom, will it make a difference?? Also picked up 2 x spare cylinders with powervalves for £60 which came off a MC21 so just goes to show the hard parts to find are still out there.
Is it for a track bike? The HRC looms have n provision for road bits - lights, indicators, horn etc. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Its for my road bike, the sender said that the "Not for highway use" box was integrated with a road loom so I guess all the messy stuffs done for road use. The HRC loom is also included in sale.
Ah ok. The box will indeed fit to a standard loom, as I have one too.
You'll probably find it easier to fit the box to your loom than replace your whole wiring loom. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Joining those 16 wires in (and snipping off one of the PGM plugs on your existing loom) is no small task nor can't be undone tidily.
Swapping the loom out isn't a big job and if he unwires the HRC box from the new loom he'll be left with a useless road loom with one PGM plug missing.
Why people do it I don't understand, it's be OK if it was a nice tidy plug in solution but it's not. The wiresplice is one wire, this is 16! _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
At present it works just fine with the 2 x splices, im going to see what arrives in the post, if it isn't too shoddy i'll plug it in. To be perfectly honest the bike goes just fine and I effectively rewrapped the entire loom when it was last stripped down.
I have a strange new obsession with HRC bits, even if this one does nothing, it does say "Not for highway use"
It looks like he's got hold of the grey plugs and spliced them into a road loom rather than butcher the "derestriction box" to splice it into the road loom which is the usual "solution".
Unless someone could find a female PGM connector you've always got to butcher a road loom to integrate the HRC box.
If it comes with a complete HRC loom (i.e. not one that's had it's grey plugs snipped off) you'll more than get your £80 back if you just sold the HRC loom c/w it's derestriction box.
And you get a free RC servo. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Ok so parts arrived, HRC delimiter is spliced into a road loom already (still not sure if i'll fit it my existing cabling is much tidier). One massive bonus is that the sender included a brand new lightweight 38 tooth ISA racing sprocket (Greek I think), 2 x 0.3mm base gaskets and the servo is like new in the plastic. Well chuffed, i'll put some pics on of the loom, might aid someone thinking of doing the same otherwise expect to see it and the HRC box in classified soon. _________________ "............should have bought a Honda"
I removed the HRC plug, and crimped on compatible pins. ONce the pins are all inserted inthe the unit, you wrap a piece of tape around the whole lot, and fill with silicon to creat a plug.
Perfectly acceptable batle-damage repair on aircraft, and worked fine on my bike for years.
(this is before I added the silicon) _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Thanks for that Dave, I can't really see why I should chop or even fit the delimiter im not going to gain anything..... _________________ "............should have bought a Honda"
Of course you are - it says HRC on it! _________________ MC21SP Plaything

I removed the HRC plug,
Personally I'd remove the PGM plug from a near worthless PGM-III loom before I removed the plug from the quite rare and bizzarely expensive HRC wiresplice in a box.
And I'd swap a loom over before I'd do either, especially if the loom already had the grey plugs spliced into it.
But to be fair I'd rather just splice the orange/blue wire to the black/white wire on a stock loom and leave the rest of it alone. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
It was a careful technical removal! And anyway, it's now in a box in the back of the shed, cuz I've done the wiresplice. _________________ MC21SP Plaything
