I was looking for TPS carbs to go with the HRC data logger. I think this may be to much $$ but they are cool! _________________ Andre E. Benguerel

No but I can get one, thats the cheap part. My understanding though is that the PJ carbs are for unleaded. My bike is currently set up for leaded. I hear the power between the two is negligible. You also need the harness and intake boots, they are slightly different. The harness has the TPS connections on it.
I am surprised how simple the RS is compared to the NSR. My 1998 RS has no TPS so I guess the advance map is static. I am not sure what parameters they use to run the power valves.
I should probably be spending my money elsewhere but I love bits like this!
Those look sort of like the ones I have on my 01 RS.
of course my harness is setup to deal with the TPS (Orange Plug) so I don't use the tool.
1200 GBP is a little expensive (what, that's over $2000.00), but I guess since they are setup for running on an earlier mode bike (pre 2001) with the proper setting tool, I guess it's not that bad.
The big question is will it give you that much more performance for that kind of investment? _________________ Charles Gallant
Fuel type makes no difference Andre. You could use them on an NF5, an NX5, or an NSR, on U/L or AVGAS... they just need to have the corresponding needles and jets.
The power jets themselves can be programmed to switch on and off under certain conditions to "bend" the torque curve and peak RPM. If you stand near the end of the main straight at a GP and listen to the 250's go past, you can actually hear the difference in exhaust pitch as the PJ's shut off and the RPM rises. _________________ Andy.

I think the bigger question is can I even ride the things that well?
Yeah they are $$ but uber-cool HRC bits. Does your carbs have the HRC logo Chaz? Mine do not.
Thanks Andy, I'm still learning about proper GP bikes. I have read about the PJ settings and how the HRC ECU controls them. I have also seen aftermarket controllers for them. I am afraid we don't get the 250 GP bikes here so I can't experience that. Think I'll have to plan a trip for a Euro round of MotoGP. Better hurry before the 2T's go away. _________________ Andre E. Yes, the 2001 RS250 carbs come with the HRC logo on them. I'll sell you a sticker set for $25.00 you can put on your carbs

You should have spent that $2000.00 and gone to Indy! The 250's were amazing, and I will be going back next year for them as well. Hopefully I will get to work as an official for the entire weekend next year and get full access to the garages instead of just Sunday as I did this year
There were actually a couple US wildcard riders on very underpowered machines that qualified. Would have been nice to see them race, but when you have a hurricane pushing through with major rain and 65 mph gusts of wind I guess it's the safe thing to call the race. _________________ Charles Gallant
Where do you get the big fat Ju-Jube lip like those carbs got? I've seen a RS125 with a fat lip bellmouth on a PJ carb, but it came with the bike, and the guy didn't know where he got it from. He said that it improved drivability, and he had to go up a couple of jet sizes using it... _________________ The Chopster
That's actually part of the body casting on those carbs. I know the sort of thing you mean, but unfortunately I can't help with where to get them. _________________ Andy.
