Chain in question is a DID 520, o - ring im pretty sure.
Just wondering about friction between the links. I had the wheel off so i was able to have a geez at the chain. Twisting the links seems to have considerable amount of friction. They dont feel gunked up or anything, just tight, if they werent being stretched around the 2 sprockets they really would'nt like to straiten out at all
Is there any ways to minimise friction like my old bmx bike chains _________________
Yeh it is o-ring . They do take a bit of power to run them but they are low maintanance long lasting. You can buy a non o-ring chain and gain a bit of power more chain lube more replacement but they are cheaper.
You're feeling the rubber O rings binding slightly on the steel links. So long as it's well lubricated then that's as good as it gets.
A lightweight racing chain absorbs far less power, but doesn't last as long - like 500 miles and it's severly stretched. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

A man with a white coat once tested a bike's power with an o-ring chain and then with a standard chain. The standard chained test made more horsepower than the o-ring chained test. When the o-ring chain heated up, there was an increase in horsepower. When the standard chain got hot it made less horsepower than the hot o-ring chain.
