The F-III kit doesn't use them, but only because the HRC ignition system has no provision for them. For street use, and even track applications without the Formula III ignition I would leave them in place. They significantly smooth the power curve.

Yes i understand but if someone fit other carbs pwk etc he has to block them i think...

This doesnt mean that the bike will not perform well

The people who fitted bigger carbs what have they done with the solenoids?

Large carbs on the motors we have tested on the dyno generally lose you bottom-end and mid-range, and rarely produce more power than the OEM 32mm items, although can give additional over-rev if the motor is capable of making power that high up the rev range.

The PGM-II, PGM-III, and PGM-IV all have an ignition curve that expects the air correctors to be in place, and triggers the solenoids for best performance. You will likely run rather rich at various throttle openings/RPM without the solenoids... which is one of the problems we've encountered with the PJ/PWK equipped bikes with non-F-III ignitions.

You would be beter off boring out your carbs or fitting mc28 carbs to your bike . Been there done that . When i put 38's on , i could not kickstart the bike and saw no extra hp on the dyno . Fact !

I think I'd rather have PJ's on mine than MC28 carbs! Not because they are MC28, but because they are a tw*t of a carb to work on!

A 2 minute job to changes the needles in PJ/PWK's, a 4 minute job with MC18/21 carbs, and a 25 minute job for an MC28!

I think the MC18/21 carb venturi is better than the MC28 too, personally.

How about someone modifying the bowls on the 21 carbs for a quick jet change ?

Yeah, that could be a good mod. Not sure how practical it is, but could be worth a try.

Yeh that left air screw is hard to get to . I think something like the idle adjuster would be perfect easy adjustments without pulling anythink off.

I must have very nimble and feminine hands as I can adjust the air screws with a screw driver and a torch.

The torch is because I'm blind as a rivet.
